Project
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is charged with the responsibility of maintaining public order and law enforcement throughout Washington County, Maryland. As a law enforcement agency and the office of an elected official, transparency is of the utmost importance. With the introduction of the new Maryland Public Information Act the Sheriff’s Office wanted to develop a new website that would provide better public access to information and policies.
Client Needs
Originally launched in 2002, the design of the washcosheriff.com website had become dated and functionality was limited. Additionally, the site was not mobile-friendly and difficult to read and navigate for the many visitors who use mobile devices today. The site also had no means for Sheriff’s Office staff to easily update information or add reports and policies.
Solution
DatAchieve Digital provided the Washington County Sheriff’s Office with an attractive, updated, mobile-friendly website that better reflects the organization, encourages community involvement, provides easier access to information and policies, and incorporates the social media tools necessary to inform the public about the Sheriff’s Office and its mission. In addition to complete content management, the new washcosheriff.com website includes a document center where the public can search and review reports and policies published by the Sheriff’s Office.
