Located on the banks of the Potomac River and overlooking the Western Maryland Rail Trail and the historic C&O Canal in Hancock, Maryland, Buddy Lou’s Eats Drinks & Antiques is an eclectic mix of excellent food, hidden treasures, and fun people. The restaurant has quickly become a popular spot for locals, hikers and bikers, antique lovers, and foodies throughout the region. DatAchieve Digital was hired to develop a website that would capture the unique destination.
Buddy Lou’s needed a way to get the word out that there was a new (and uniquely different!) kind of restaurant in town, after the building had been sitting empty for several years. A new website would be central to Buddy Lou’s marketing and promotion. The site had to be mobile-friendly to appeal to the many travelers and outdoor enthusiasts moving through the area, and quickly communicate the personality of the combined restaurant and antique shop. The site also needed to incorporate menus, content, and galleries that could be easily maintained by busy restaurant staff, and publishing tools to update the restaurant’s social media.
DatAchieve Digital provided the Buddy Lou’s Eats Drinks & Antiques with a rich, fun design that combined food and vintage antique items together to capture the eclectic space, and a prominent calendar featuring the many events held at the restaurant. The site features a mobile-responsive layout with large, touch-friendly navigation, social sharing tools that encourage visitors to share restaurant specials with friends, and social publishing tools that automatically publish to the restaurant’s email list, social pages, and text message subscribers.
